Microsoft is offering up a substantial discount to last year’s flagship two-in-one hybrid, dropping the price as much as £430 on some models.

For those who are unaware, the Surface Pro 6 is a svelte new tablet with an expansive 12.3-inch touchscreen display and the fully-featured Windows 10 Home operating system, so you can run all the usual apps, including desktop-class Photoshop and Excel on the move. You can use the optional Surface Keyboard cover to tackle some work on-the-move, use the Surface Pen to annotate documents or doodle, or swipe and tap the touchscreen to play a game.

Powered by the eighth-generation Intel core chipset and between 8GB and 16GB of RAM, the Surface Pro 6 gets 13.5 hours battery life for video playback.

When it comes to ports, the Surface Pro 6 is closer to a traditional laptop than a tablet. It has a full-size USB 3.0 port, a 3.5mm headphone port, a Mini Display port to wire the two-in-one to an HD external display, and a MicroSDXC card reader to grab snaps from the memory card in your DSLR.

There’s a 5MP front-facing camera for 1080p HD video calls on Skype, and a rear-firing 8MP camera capable of shooting 1080p Full HD video.
